PHYSIOTHERAPY
If you suffer from any joint or muscle problem Physiotherapy can help relieve your pain and get you moving again. Enjoying life to the fullest can be difficult when you have persistent aches or discomfort. Physiotherapy is a non-invasive form of treatment that addresses problems in joints, discs, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves that cause pain, stiffness and weakness.
ADVANCED ACUPUNCTURE
Dr Solomon Abrahams has gained additional qualifications in Acupuncture and often uses it alongside Physiotherapy, particularly in the treatment of inflammatory joint conditions. Physiotherapists are in a unique position of being able to combine Acupuncture with other treatment methods such as exercises, manipulation, and stretching. This combined approach is more likely to lead to successful rehabilitation.
SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
Premier Physio is one of the few physiotherapy clinics to be able to offer Shockwave Therapy – For more information please feel free to speak to one of our clinical specialists. This amazingly effective treatment for tendon and soft tissue problems uses high-intensity sound waves to improve metabolism and blood circulation, which stimulate the body’s repair mechanisms and allows it to do a better job of healing itself – at a greatly increased rate – particularly in the case of chronic, longstanding conditions.
DIAGNOSTIC ULTRASOUND
Diagnostic ultrasound, also called sonography or diagnostic medical sonography, is an imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within your body. This can provide valuable information for diagnosing and treating a variety of injuries/conditions.
NON SURGICAL DECOMPRESSION
Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a type of motorized traction that may help relieve back pain. Spinal decompression works by gently stretching the spine. That changes the force and position of the spine. This change takes pressure off the spinal disks, which are gel-like cushions between the bones in your spine, by creating negative pressure in the disc. As a result, bulging or herniated disks may retract, taking pressure off nerves and other structures in your spine. This in turn, helps promote movement of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids into the disks so they can heal.
LOW LEVEL LASER
Low level laser therapy is the application of light at a particular frequency to help reduce pain levels and encourage recovery and repair. Low level laser therapy stimulates the body’s own pain relief, healing and repair systems to achieve this. The effects of low level laser are bio- chemical - there is no heating or damage to tissue. Low level laser therapy is sometimes offered as part of a treatment plan together with other things, such as stretching and strengthening exercises.
JOINT INJECTIONS
Dr Solomon Abrahams is highly qualified and experienced in the use of Joint Injections, which can be used to treat many different joints including the knee, shoulder, elbow, ankle, wrist and hip. Joint injections won’t cure the underlying problem or condition affecting your joint, but they may ease your symptoms. They’re often used alongside other treatments, such as physiotherapy.
